JELEM stands for Jesus Is the Light Evangelistic Ministry. Founded by Apostle Richard Kwame Owusu, Jelem Chapel International was born out of a divine mandate — to raise a people who carry the light of Jesus Christ not just within the walls of the church, but into every home, community, and nation.
Rooted in Kasoa, Accra, the ministry quickly became known for its deep prophetic culture, fiery intercession, and the supernatural presence of God that marks every gathering. At its core, Jelem Chapel is a prophetic house — a place where God speaks, declares, and transforms.

Apostle Richard Kwame Owusu is the Founder and General Overseer of Jelem Chapel International — Jesus Is the Light Evangelistic Ministry. Called and commissioned by God, his ministry has spanned years of prophetic declaration, intercessory prayer, healing, and kingdom advancement across Ghana and beyond.
Known for his bold and precise prophetic voice, Apostle Owusu is the host of the widely followed Declaration Service — a prophetic gathering that has brought divine encounters and supernatural breakthroughs to thousands of lives.
